Terms & Conditions
London Dry Cleaning Company (UK) Limited
Last Updated: 12/08/2025
We are committed to delivering fair, professional, and transparent services to all our customers. These Terms & Conditions are designed to set out clear expectations, outline service limitations, and protect both our customers and our business. Please read them thoroughly before using our services. By engaging with London Dry Cleaning Company, you agree to these terms.
These Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company are essential for a smooth experience.
1. Wash, Dry & Fold (Service Washes)
Adhering to the TERMS & CONDITIONS of London Dry Cleaning Company ensures clarity and fairness.
- Customers must separate colours, check care labels, and ensure the suitability of items for this service.
- Check all pockets for personal belongings (e.g., pens, tissues, coins, receipts, or electronics). We are not liable for damage caused by such items.
- Pricing is calculated per 6kg load: 0–6kg = 1 load, 6–12kg = 2 loads, and so on.
- Mixed loads requiring separation (lights/darks) are charged as multiple loads even if the total weight is under 6kg.
- Bulky items exceeding the machine capacity will be charged as two loads.
- Non-tumble dry, hand-wash-only, feather-filled, or delicate items are not permitted.
- Customers are advised to inform staff of any special handling needs to prevent damage.
2. Curtain Cleaning
Understanding the Terms and Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company helps prevent misunderstandings.
- All curtains are cleaned at the owner’s risk, as the fabrics, linings, and stitching can react unpredictably to the cleaning process.
- Items without manufacturer care labels will be processed entirely at the customer’s risk, as correct treatment cannot be confirmed without these labels.
- Risks include, but are not limited to: UV rot causing fabric tears, blistering or peeling of blackout or vinyl linings, shrinkage (up to 3% and occasionally more in certain fabrics), loosening or detachment of hems and stitching, and uneven colour changes or fading.
- Specialist low-heat cleaning methods may be recommended for delicate or interlined curtains to minimise shrinkage and protect the integrity of the material.
- Curtains that have been exposed to prolonged sunlight, damp, or smoke may show pre-existing weaknesses, which can become more visible after cleaning.
- Water-based stains, particularly from condensation, mould, or previous spillages, are often deeply embedded and can be difficult or impossible to remove entirely; as such, stain removal results are not guaranteed.
- Customers are encouraged to discuss any concerns about fabric condition or previous cleaning history with our team before service so that we can recommend the safest approach.
3. Leather, Suede & Sheepskin Cleaning
Our Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company detail our commitment to quality.
- All leather, suede, and sheepskin items are cleaned strictly at the owner’s risk due to the unique and variable nature of these materials, which can react differently even under identical cleaning conditions.
- Potential outcomes include: colour fading or uneven lightening (especially in solvent-sensitive dyes), increased visibility of natural imperfections such as scars, veins, and wrinkles, shrinkage from overstretched hides, adhesive bleed that may create dark patches, and colour transfer between adjacent panels or trims.
- Decorative trims (rhinestones, sequins, vinyls, metal studs, beads, or embroidery) may detach, distort, or lose their finish during cleaning.
- Specialist leather care products, moisturisers, and protective treatments are used to minimise risk; however, complete restoration of colour, finish, or texture is not always possible, particularly if the item has prior wear, sun exposure, water damage, or at-home cleaning attempts.
- Customers are encouraged to highlight pre-existing marks, damage, or colour changes before cleaning so that our team can assess feasibility and advise on likely outcomes.
- Items with contrasting materials (e.g., leather and fabric panels) require extra caution, and the customer accepts the risk of any appearance differences.
4. Dry Cleaning by Weight (Bulk Cleaning)
Customers should familiarise themselves with the Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- This is a cost-effective cleaning option designed for customers with multiple items that do not require individual attention. While it offers savings, liability for any single item is capped at £35.
- Household textiles such as duvets, curtains, rugs, or upholstery covers are not accepted under this service, as they require specialist handling.
- Customers are fully responsible for separating fabrics and colours before handing over items to reduce the risk of colour bleeding or dye transfer.
- Items should be inspected for stains, damage, or delicate trims before inclusion in a bulk order, as treatment is standardised and may not be suitable for fragile or high-value garments.
- This service is best suited for everyday wear and durable fabrics; delicate, designer, or sentimental items should be processed individually under our standard or specialist cleaning services.
5. Pest Eradication Cleaning (Bedbugs/Moths)
The TERMS & CONDITIONS of London Dry Cleaning Company apply to all cleaning services.
- This specialist service is designed for garments, bedding, and textiles that are heavily infested with bedbugs, moths, or similar pests, where standard cleaning methods are insufficient.
- The process includes thorough disinfection, sealing and secure transport of infested items, and special handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination with other customers’ garments.
- Surcharges apply to cover the additional time, materials, and protective measures required for safe treatment.
- Items that are unsuitable for tumble drying or dry cleaning, or that may be damaged by the necessary heat or solvent treatments, will be refused to protect both the garment and our equipment.
- Customers must pre-sort laundry by fabric type and colour before collection to streamline handling and ensure the correct cleaning method is applied to each category.
- We recommend that customers inspect items for pest activity before booking this service and inform staff of any specific concerns so that we can apply the most effective eradication process.
- While our methods are highly effective, complete pest removal cannot be guaranteed if there is re-exposure after cleaning or if infestation has penetrated internal structures such as mattress seams or upholstered furniture.
6. Customer Instructions
Follow the TERMS & CONDITIONS of London Dry Cleaning Company for a seamless experience.
- Customers must provide clear written or verbal instructions with every order. This should include: full customer details (name, phone number, address), an accurate description of each garment or textile, the specific service requested (e.g., dry cleaning, alterations, stain removal), and any known issues or special handling requirements (such as delicate trims, sentimental value, or past cleaning problems).
- Where relevant, customers should highlight pre-existing damage, stains, or areas requiring extra attention. Photographs or written notes may be attached to the order for clarity.
- Without clear instructions, all garments will be processed following the care labels, our standard procedures, and the professional judgment of our cleaning specialists.
- If instructions are incomplete, ambiguous, or potentially unsafe for the garment’s fabric type, we will contact the customer for clarification before proceeding. Where clarification is not possible, we reserve the right to refuse service.
- Any requests to clean items contrary to care label instructions must be confirmed in writing, and such items will be processed entirely at the customer’s risk.
7. Payment Terms
All customers must accept the Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- Full payment is required before delivery unless the customer has arranged to pay cash on delivery, in which case payment must be made in full upon receipt of goods.
- First-time card payments must be processed by phone during office hours to ensure security and verification.
- Repeat customers with consistent order history may set up secure billing accounts for convenience, subject to approval and periodic review.
- BACS transfers and cheque payments are accepted for approved business accounts only, and funds must clear before delivery unless alternative arrangements are confirmed in writing.
- Any overdue accounts may incur interest charges at the prevailing statutory rate and may result in the suspension of services or the removal of agreed discounts.
- We reserve the right to request a deposit or pre-payment for high-value orders, large-volume jobs, or services requiring specialist materials.
- In cases of disputed charges, customers must raise concerns within 7 days of invoicing to avoid further collection action.
8. Estimates & Quotes
Estimates based on the Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company are provided before service.
- Estimates are provided as an initial guide and are approximate only, based on the information supplied by the customer before the physical inspection of the items.
- Once items are inspected in our facility, a final and accurate quote will be provided upon request, reflecting the actual condition of the garment, fabric type, stain complexity, and any specialist processes required.
- If no formal quote is requested, cleaning will proceed at our standard published price list.
- Customers are encouraged to request a detailed written quote if they wish to approve costs before work commences.
- Verbal or emailed estimates are not binding and may change if the item’s condition or cleaning requirements differ from the original description.
- In some instances, additional surcharges may apply for specialist treatments, urgent turnaround times, or high-risk cleaning processes; these will be discussed with the customer before proceeding.
9. Stain Removal
Stains will be treated according to the Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- We use a variety of advanced stain removal techniques and specialist products, tailored to the type of stain, the fabric composition, and the item’s overall condition. Despite these efforts, stain removal results are not guaranteed, as some marks may be permanent due to age, prior treatments, or the chemical nature of the stain.
- Common challenges include set-in stains, dye transfer, tannin-based marks (such as tea, coffee, wine), protein-based stains (such as blood, sweat, milk), oil and grease penetration, and colour loss caused by prior attempts at removal.
- Customers are encouraged to inform us of the origin and age of any stains to allow for the safest and most effective treatment.
- If the initial cleaning does not achieve satisfactory stain reduction, items may be re-cleaned once, free of charge, upon request; however, the original cleaning charges will still apply.
- We will not attempt repeated aggressive treatments if they are likely to cause damage to the fabric or alter its colour or texture.
10. Trims & Accessories
-
- We are not liable for any damage to trims or embellishments such as buttons, zippers, badges, beads, sequins, appliqués, embroidery, lace inserts, metallic threads, or decorative fastenings that may occur during cleaning, pressing, or handling.
Any issues with trims will be addressed per the TERMS & CONDITIONS of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- Wear, age-related deterioration, manufacturer defects, poor attachment methods, or the use of incompatible materials can cause trims to loosen, break, tarnish, lose colour, or warp during the cleaning process.
- Customers are encouraged to inform us in advance of any valuable or delicate trims so we can assess and, where possible, take extra precautions, such as covering or removing them before cleaning.
- In cases where removal of trims is requested for protection, additional charges may apply, and the customer will be responsible for reattachment.
- Certain trims may not be suitable for high heat, solvents, or water-based cleaning and may still be at risk even with protective measures.
11. Missed Deliveries
-
- Deliveries may be delayed for a variety of reasons, including re-cleaning, extended drying times, machinery breakdowns, severe weather, or traffic disruptions beyond our control.
Delivery issues will be resolved as per the Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- Customers must advise us at the time of booking if a delivery date is critical so that we can confirm feasibility and prioritise accordingly.
- Failed delivery attempts due to customer absence, incorrect address details, or lack of safe access may incur a re-delivery charge.
- If a delivery cannot be completed, the customer will be contacted to arrange an alternative time. Additional storage fees may apply for prolonged delays caused by repeated missed delivery attempts.
- If redelivery is not possible within 14 days of the original date, the order may need to be collected directly from our premises.
12. Minimum Order Values
-
- Central London: £50 minimum order value applies to each collection or delivery.
Minimum order values are outlined in the TERMS & CONDITIONS Of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- Outer London: £100 minimum order value applies to each collection or delivery.
- These minimums cover travel time, fuel, and operational costs to ensure efficient service provision.
- Minimums may be adjusted based on travel distance, parking availability, congestion charges, tolls, or building access requirements.
- Orders below the minimum value may still be accepted at our discretion, but could incur an additional surcharge to cover costs.
- For bulk or repeat business customers, tailored minimums or pricing structures may be available by prior arrangement.
13. Delivery Confirmation & Liability
Receipt confirmation is part of the TERMS & CONDITIONS of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- Customer signatures are required to confirm receipt or collection, ensuring that both parties have a clear record of the transaction.
- Claims for missing items require signed proof of loss, which may include a delivery manifest, collection note, or other official documentation provided at the time of service.
- Customers should inspect all items upon delivery and raise any discrepancies immediately before signing to confirm receipt.
- If someone other than the account holder signs for the delivery, it will be deemed as received in good order unless a report is made within the specified claims window.
- Unattended deliveries/collections are left entirely at the customer’s risk, and the company accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage once the items are left in the designated location.
- For added security, customers may request photo confirmation of delivery if no one is present to sign; however, this must be arranged in advance.
The TERMS & CONDITIONS of London Dry Cleaning Company govern all services.
14. Care Labels
- Items are cleaned strictly according to the care label instructions provided by the manufacturer. These labels are designed to guide safe and effective cleaning based on the fabric composition, dye type, and construction.
- Where customers request cleaning methods that go against care label instructions, this must be confirmed in writing before work begins, and the item will be processed entirely at the customer’s risk.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to check that labels are accurate and intact; faded, missing, or incorrect labels can lead to misinterpretation of cleaning requirements.
- Specific garments, particularly vintage or altered items, may have care labels that no longer reflect the actual condition or fibre content; in such cases, our team will use professional judgment to determine the safest method.
- We are not liable for changes in size, texture, or colour when the care label has been followed correctly or when cleaning has been performed as per a written customer request contrary to the care label.
Cleaning will adhere strictly to the TERMS & CONDITIONS of London Dry Cleaning Company.
15. Unclaimed Items
- Items left uncollected for over 2 months may be donated to charity, recycled, or disposed of, depending on the condition of the items and the discretion of the company.
- We will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer via phone, email, or text message before taking action, but it remains the customer’s responsibility to collect items promptly.
- For items of significant value, extended storage may be arranged upon request and may be subject to a storage fee.
- After 2 months, we will not be liable for any loss, damage, or depreciation of unclaimed items.
16. Compensation & Liability
Compensation claims must follow the TERMS & CONDITIONS Of London Dry Cleaning Company.
-
- Claims for damage, loss, or service issues must be made within 48 hours of delivery or collection to ensure timely investigation.
- Compensation limits are as follows:
- Standard cleaning: Up to 25 times the cleaning cost per item.
- Specialist items: Up to £400 per item.
- Wash & Fold: Up to £80 per 6kg load.
- All assessments will consider factors such as fair wear and tear, age, condition of the garment before cleaning, and any inherent weaknesses.
- Lost item claims are typically resolved within 4 weeks; complex cases involving specialist assessments may take longer.
- Customers may be required to provide proof of purchase, photographs, or other evidence to support a claim.
Customers will be informed about any changes to the Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- Where compensation is agreed, it may be offered as a cash settlement, store credit, or a replacement item, at the company’s discretion.
- Consequential or indirect losses are not covered, including but not limited to missed events, inconvenience, emotional distress, or costs associated with purchasing replacement garments outside the agreed settlement.
17. Prices
-
- Prices for all services are subject to change without prior notice due to fluctuations in material costs, utility charges, labour expenses, and other operational factors.
- Current rates are displayed online and in-store, and customers are encouraged to check the latest pricing before placing an order.
- Promotional prices or discounts may be offered for a limited time and cannot be applied retrospectively to previous orders.
Promotions will be outlined in the Terms & Conditions of London Dry Cleaning Company.
- Specific specialist treatments or urgent services may incur additional charges; these will be communicated to the customer before work begins.
- For bulk orders or repeat business customers, customised pricing or contractual rates may be available by prior arrangement.
